Casio has come up with a new model which evolved from the previous PC 120 model. The newest Casio Privia PX-130 digital piano boasts a modern elegant design. It features an option that enables it to produce the sound of an acoustic piano. Such a feature is ideal for beginners and semi-professionals so that music emanating from the instrument is similar to those created during live concerts.
Moreover, the PX-130 features a 128-note polyphonic and 16-tone digital sound. It also has 88 weighted keys, two headphone connections for functional amplifications, 4 reverb capabilities, a metronome and three pedals to produce the acoustic sound.
Despite numerous debates on the sound of the PX-130, it cannot be denied that there is a significant improvement as to its sound quality compared to previous models. The PX-130 outperforms the competition when it comes to the sound fidelity of digital pianos. Sounds that emanate from the current model are perfect for classical pieces due to its classical piano pedals. It can also be set to the Grand Plan: “Classic” for delicate sounds or “Modern” for bright and lively sounds.
The PX-130 features a keyboard that is light and portable yet produces the sound of a grand piano. Likewise, the sequencer allows you to record jam sessions up to 5,000 notes. Its USB / MIDI port allows you to connect your PC so that you can move songs to and from the PX-130. It is capable of storing 65 KB of ROM memory and is compatible with Mac or Windows PC. It is great for instruction since a student and teacher can play on the keyboard simultaneously through its Duet Mode.
However, some users comment that the PX-130 has squeaky keys, radio interference in the speakers and sometimes loses the clarity of its sound. All in all, its price is commensurate to its sound quality.
